Y Team News
On Wednesday, 8th February, two teams of children from the Y Team attended the Y Team Battalion 5-A-Side football competition held in St. Matthew’s, Broomhedge.
The excitement had been mounting over the weeks running up to the tournament and the children were determined to give the opposition a run for their money. Our teams named themselves "Simply the Best" (Matthew, Timothy, Kyle, Jonathan and Jessica) and "The Wanderers" (Ross, Zoe, Lucy, Emma and Rebecca). Both teams played extremely well and it was a very close competition, with "Simply the Best" coming 2nd and "The Wanderers" getting 6th place.
The Battalion Sports Officer, Mr.Mack, commented on the exceptional turnout to this year’s tournament, he thanked the children and leaders for coming and presented medals to the top three teams. Well done , Everyone!

THE 'Y' TEAM
What is the 'Y' Team? - The second section in the Brigade is the 'Y' Team and is for boys and girls in P4 - P6. The 'Y' Team used to be the Young Boys and Young Girls Corps but in 2002 the name was changed.
The 'Y' reminds us that we belong to an organisation that has worked with boys and girls for a long time.
The word 'Team' reminds us that we do things together.
Being part of the 'Y' Team
1. In the 'Y' Team we are discovering more about God and his love for each one of us.
2. We enjoy exploring Gods world and looking after it.
3. We try to be kind and find ways of helping others.
4. We have fun doing things together.
What do we wear in the 'Y' Team? - In the 'Y' Team we wear a uniform to show that we belong to the same group. Boys and girls wear a navy sweatshirt with the Brigade Logo and a royal blue polo shirt.
What we do in the 'Y' Team? - Each week in the 'Y' Team is different and we try to vary the programme as much as possible. We learn new skills, we play new games, we do arts and crafts, we learn more about God and his love for us, we support a charity each year and we work for our badges and awards.
